Daily Prompt: Facade

After the sparkle of the ring faded it was time for

The big white dress

The wedding, the party, the presents,

All the Attention.

She couldn’t stop there though.

She so craved the attention that she found a way to get it,

A Baby.

A Baby for everyone to ooh and aah over.

And they did.

She loved that baby more than she knew she could

and so,

She settled down.

Until it was time for a new

House

and

Car

and

Dog

Like always, she got the

House

and

The shiny new car

and

Dog.

And she was happy behind her white picket fence,

Until she realized she wasn’t the only one being

Patronized

by her

Beloved.

It was all a Facade.
